Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

Fort Myers is in Florida, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Getting around Fort Myers is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Florida's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Not much to look at but that is what you want. Popular with the locals. Fresh market that you can pick from, great selection of food, apps, etc. Enjoyed the frog legs, crocodile nuggets, and swordfish bites. I'll visit it again next time I am in town.

It's been 8 years since we moved from the area and after moving back, Skip One on 41 was on our short list if places to go back to. Same spot, same building and decor but sadly not as great as it was in the past. We craved the fried shrimp and hush puppies and the shrimp were sadly over cooked and chewy. We also each experienced at least one shrimp that had almost a subtle chlorine flavor. Some things best left to memories 😞 Time to try a new / different place to create a crave memory and keep Skip One in the past.

We went to Skip One 41 Sunday afternoon, party of four. Its a local restaurant that's kind of dated and rustic. Easy to find on the west side of Tamiami. Restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. Table for four was readily available. The dinning area is somewhat cramped but not uncomfortable. Friendly and knowledgeable wait staff. The food was brought to us promptly and exactly as ordered. I had the salmon cooked Cajun style and it was excellent. Perfectly done and well seasoned. It comes with two sides. I chose white rice and coleslaw slaw which was okay but nothing special. The others in my party had Mahi Mahi with mixed vegetables and garlic bread. Fried Cod with potato salad and steamed broccoli. Shrimp with fries and apple sauce. All meals were excellent. We all finished off with Key Lime pie that also excellent (worthy enough to write home to mom about). I will definitely go there again.

Old Skool and No Frills comes to mind and in the best possible way! Once you walk in, you will agree that nothing has been updated or changed in 40 years, but the place is usually full and for a good reason. Super fresh seafood, fair prices and a very attentive and accommodating staff. The only thing missing is a view of the ocean!
